Physical properties and structural characteristics of alkali modified fly ash

چکیده

Abstract Fly ash as residue from coal combustion has potential for environmental applications an adsorbent water pollution treatment. Adsorption performance of fly depends on origin and chemical Modification by the treatment could increase adsorption capacity. In this paper, was alkali modified with NaOH solution at various concentrations (2 N, 4 6 10 N) a temperature 60 °C. The physical properties structural characteristics unmodified were studied Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) surface area pore size analysis, also scanning electron microscope (SEM) analysis. results showed that modification area, average radius, total volume in ash. Unmodified be classified mesoporous materials exhibited type IV nitrogen adsorption-desorption isotherms H3 hysteresis loop according to classification International Union Pure Applied Chemistry (IUPAC). SEM observations revealed had rougher more porous structure than Alkali changed supports its application adsorbent.
